After months of rumors and speculation, the 4K release of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has been confirmed by director Edgar Wright. The theatric re-release is confirmed for April 30th, but no set date was unveiled for the 4K release. With the nature of these things lately it shouldn’t be too long after though. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is certainly a movie that would lend itself well to improved visuals and audios.
Universal, among others, has been consistently revitalizing movies with the 4K treatment. Just recently Shrek was announced to be getting a 4K release for the 20th Anniversary. It is a welcomed trend as 4K devices have essentially become standard. Hopefully this continues and we see more of the great films of yesterday return.
